K.R.I.S.3. is apparently an animated audio-visual hypnosis. But under the surface it is full of subversive satire, critique and humor. An absurd colorful and creatively exceeding journey through our subconscious aiming for the best possible outcome of your personal crisis.

K.R.I.S.3. is my diploma project at the end of my studies of communication-design at the State Academy of Fine Arts and Design Stuttgart. It’s a 17min audio-visual hypnosis in which i completely followed my instincts when it came to the visual approach. Bold Colors, weird shapes and characters, special typefaces and the use of mixed media is what makes it an expression of mine i guess.

Like every DVD-Selfcare-Program it comes with some nice custom Packaging. I produced this with some heavy 300g paperback and a special folding so i can manage to get a 12-page booklet plus a A2-poster into it. The booklet guides you quickly through the process and how K.R.I.S.3. can help you to have the best possible outcome of your personal crisis.

As we’re very proud of our 2.000.000 satisfied customers, we decided to give them some space on the backside of the DVD-Packaging as well as some further information about the author of the program. A fictional person named Diverta, who is a centaur living in South Germany.

The poster is folded and glued into the DVD-packaging. It shows the 42 horses I’ve been drawing for a walkcycle-animation within the film. Every frame is drawn in another style, some are even in different techniques for example clay, collage, oil-painting, etc.
At the top of the poster you can see an vector-Illustration of Lakoon, the greek god. It is not much known about him, but the snakes he have to fight can be seen as a symbol for a personal crisis, fighting your inner demons.

And what if it doesn’t work...?
Well, for this case every DVD-Packaging comes with some custom-designed K.R.I.S.3. Longpapers in King Size and including 32 tips ;)
