Kochkraft durch KMA is a german electro-punk band. “Auf jungen Stuten lernt man fluten” is the first single of their 2022 Album “Alle Kinder sind tot”, released on Uncle-M Records. The song is about the primitive and hateful comments of a german regular’s table statements about immigrants and how these people beshame the rest of the society, which have a completley different opinion about these topics.
It’s a bold statement against animosity.

To achieve the special look, every scene has been created digitally, then got printed out and scanned in again to be further composed in on a digital stage again. To save paper and get the dirty printer look even more gritty, each paper contains up to 16 frames on each side. As an additional effect of this treatment it produces lots of double images, shining through from the backside of each paper.

The illustration of “the mob” represents the narrow minded people spreading their hate messages. The vector illustration is built up from several individual shapes so it could be rigged seperatly in After Effects. Each limb, neck, head, eye, mouth and so on got it’s own custom controller created so it can be moved indivudually.

As the lyrics of the song have a strong and further more important statement against racism and animosity, I decided to have a visually strong typographic level which underlines the lyrics of the song.
There are mostly two different typefaces being used plus a handwritten one. The first is the corporate typeface for the band’s album “Ompu 0.2” by Teo Tuominen and the second one is “Daubenton” by Oliver Dolbeau. Each of them got digitally manipulated to make the words move or distort as it suits the sound or the lyrics itself.
